THIS CAR IS INCREDIBLE and...

 

VERY RARE  !!!

 

 

You are looking at a 1971 Dodge Challenger in Pristine Show condition. On the front your have your incredible chrome accented front grill with quad headlamps. Pay attention with this one as it appears as though it is a 1972 E-body  from the front and rear, but Chrysler did not produce an E-Body Convertible in 1972....or did they?
( Read on as the story unfolds !!! )

 

 

This is an incredible car!

 

 

The sleek design of the Challenger was like no other vehicle on the road. This particular car did start out as, and is a 1971 E-Body Challenger Convertible. However, this car, built August 28th, 1970 at the Hamtramk, Michigan plant had a prefix "R" on the vehicle order number.  This prefix easily identifies the production as a special "Public Relations" vehicle for use by the TV Studios. Because Chrysler dropped the 72 production of E-body Convertibles, they sent a few cars to CA to be converted to look like the 72 model year for the upcoming TV season.

 

 

This Vehicle Broadcast sheet shows the "R" Prefix in the vehicle order number.

 

 

This vehicle was discovered and purchased in 1986 and then completely restored in 1991. When it was discovered, the previous owner had it repainted to a Maroon finish, unaware of what he had. This vehicle has won several awards and has been featured in several articles in Mopar Muscle and other magazines in the past. Former owners have provided tons of correspondence and documentation including the history with restoration pictures, the Chrysler Production Broadcast Sheet, Option listings and more!!!

She sits on factory 15" Rallye wheels with Good Year Eagle GTII  tires. Each side is accented with chrome sport mirrors and hood pins. Re-chromed bumpers, professionally polished, straightened trim. We do have the original
14" wheels that will accompany car.

The interior has been completely restored to it's original factory colors!. The Beige interior and buckets are in EXCELLENT Condition. Make yourself comfortable with manual seating.Front and rear door panels and kick panels are New.

All glass is in incredible condition. To your left are your air controls with the power top controls. To your right of the steering column is a Pioneer am/fm sound system.

 

 

This is the original dash pad with the VIN tab.

 

 

Passenger seats appears as if never sat in. You will appreciate the condition and quality of this vehicle.
